My Top 5 Favorite Rap Albums

The moment I knew I wanted to be a rap artist, I wanted to learn and absorb the knowledge that I could about the Hip-hop culture. Along this journey, I've discovered and listened to a lot of rap music. I want to take this moment to share my top 5 favorite rap albums.

  1. The Blueprint by Jay-Z. It's one of the few albums I can think of that'll play from start to finish and not feel an urge to skip a track.
  2. iLLmatic by Nas. There would be no rap album called The ILL Standard without the inspiration of iLLmatic.
  3. Me Against The World by 2Pac. Definitely my favorite 2Pac album and what I would consider his most conscientious or in-depth album.
  4. Life After Death by The Notorious B.I.G. I feel as though I've listened to this album more than I've listened to Ready to Die. And Biggie's lyrical prowess is definitely something I connect with.
  5. Nellyville by Nelly. St. Louis is not too far from Centralia. The moment Nelly had made it, it made me feel as if a dream is not out of reach. But everybody's story is different and the journey to success is not always an easy one.

There you have it! My top 5 favorite rap albums.
